HOW DO I BOOK WITH A PSYCHIATRIST? HOW DO I BOOK MY PSYCHIATRIC APPOINTMENT? HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY PSYCHIATRIST?

Please let your therapist know your interest in working alongside a psychiatrist. Consultations can be booked after your second psychotherapy session. You will get a referral form to give to your family doctor.

Currently, only Vielka and Sharmila work with Psychiatrists.

IS THIS COVERED BY OHIP? IS PSYCHIATRIST CONSULTATION COVERED BY OHIP? DOES OHIP COVER PSYCHIATRIST CONSULTATION?

The consultations take place with both the therapist and the psychiatrist. The doctor’s time is covered by OHIP. However since the therapist’s time is not covered by OHIP regular fees will apply. Initial assessments are 90 minutes long, follow ups are 20 minutes long.

The first consultation is 90 minutes long, after that the doctor will make recommendations for follow ups depending on your situation. Follow ups are 20 minutes long so they can take place during a regular psychotherapy session.
