Yes, we offer direct billing with the following companies:
- Canada Life: Social Workers and Registered Psychotherapists
- Industrial Alliance: Registered Psychotherapist
- NIHB: with approved therapists only
We are unable to direct bill for RP(Q)s and Counsellors at this time.
Your insurance must be set up to pay the provider. If your insurance is set up to pay the plan member only, we will not be able to offer direct billing.
We do NOT offer direct billing with:
- Manulife
- Sunlife
- Equitable Life
- BPA
- Desjardin

Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything shared is confidential. Therapists may only break confidentiality:
To make mandatory reports of safety such as reporting a child in need of protection to Children's Aid Society.
Where disclosure is required for a legal proceeding
To facilitate an investigation or inspection authorized by warrant or by any provincial or federal law
To contact a relative, friend or potential substitute decision-maker if the client is injured, incapacitated, or ill and unable to give consent personally
When the College regulating the therapist requires it.

How do I reschedule my session?
You can reschedule your session through the client portal (https://insightclinic.janeapp.com/).
If you are cancelling or rescheduling within 48 hours of your session, please call us (289-483-0133) or send us an email (contact@theinsightclinic.ca). Please note that late cancellations/reschedules and no shows are subject to our cancelation policy.
Can I choose my therapist when booking?
Do you offer consultations before starting?
You can book online through our booking page, or contact us directly by phone or email. We’re happy to help you find the right fit.
No referrals are needed for psychotherapy, neurofeedback or assessments. Psychiatrist Assessments will require your family doctor to sign a referral form.
Most of our services are covered under extended health benefits. We recommend checking with your insurer directly.

We accept major credit cards, debit cards (visa or mastercard) and e-transfers. Payment is due at the time of service.
We require at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Missed appointments or late cancellations may be subject to the session fee.

Yes! We offer both in person and virtual psychotherapy, neurofeedback and assessments. Direct Neurofeedback and Psychoeducational Assessments are the only two services that are in person.
We support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, relationship issues, and more.

This depends on your goals and needs. Many clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions and adjust over time.
This is a free 15 minute phone call to get to know your therapist, discuss your concerns, and learn about their therapy approaches to see if the therapist is a good fit for you.
Yes. Everything shared is confidential. Therapists may only break confidentiality:

What’s the difference between Traditional and Direct Neurofeedback?

For Traditional Neurofeedback, this is a 4 month program.
How much is direct neurofeedback?
Direct neurofeedback is $90 for a stand-alone session (30 minutes). It could also be included with your therapy session at no extra cost.
We offer a $750 package for 10 sessions.

Subscription A: $300 / month
Includes: Support, 1 Follow Up Sessions (25 min.) per month
Minimum of Four Months
Subscription B : $350 / month
Includes: Technical support, clinician oversight and 1 Follow Up Sessions (50 min.) per month (This session could be two 25 min. sessions per month or one 50 min. session per month)

Is neurofeedback safe?
Can I do neurofeedback and therapy at the same time?
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, brain-based therapy that uses real-time monitoring to help regulate brain activity. It's often used for concerns like anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and sleep issues.
Traditional neurofeedback uses visual and auditory feedback for brain training. Direct neurofeedback uses micro-signals to help the brain reset itself.

What is a psychiatric assessment?
This is a collaborative psychiatric consultation involving a registered psychotherapist or social worker and a psychiatrist. It is designed for clients seeking a formal diagnosis, medication review, and therapy recommendations.
The process integrates therapy and psychiatry to provide a comprehensive understanding of a client’s mental health and to support coordinated care with the family doctor.
What is a psychoeducational assessment?
A psychoeducational assessment is a comprehensive evaluation that looks at how a person thinks, learns, and processes information. It helps identify learning strengths and challenges, such as learning disabilities, ADHD, or intellectual delays. The results are used to guide support at school, work, or in therapy.
What is a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) assessment?
What is a WSIB Assessment?
A Workplace Safety and Insurance Board assessment is an evaluation conducted to determine the impact of a workplace injury or illness on an individual’s physical, psychological, or cognitive functioning. It helps guide treatment planning, return-to-work recommendations, and claim decisions.

What is the psychiatrist assessment for?
It helps you get a formal diagnosis, medication review, and therapy recommendations through a psychiatrist working with your therapist.
Is psychiatrist assessment covered by OHIP?
Partially – the psychiatrist’s portion is covered. You are responsible for paying your therapy sessions and, if applicable, a fee for ADHD or ASD assessments. If you have insurance coverage for psychotherapy/ social work your therapy sessions would be covered according to your insurance coverage.
What do I need to do to start the psychiatrist assessment?

Once the referral is sent, it typically takes 6–8 weeks to get a booking.
Can I do the sessions online?
Yes. Therapy can be in person or virtual. The psychiatrist will always join virtually.
Who receives the psychiatrist’s report?
Your family doctor and therapist will receive it. You can discuss the results with them. If you want a copy, request it from your doctor or from Psychotherapy Matters.
What if I want an ADHD or Autism assessment?
There’s an extra fee of $350, which is not covered by OHIP and must be paid directly to Psychotherapy Matters.

To start the process, you do not need a referral. However during the third session with your therapist, you will be provided with a referral form to give to your family doctor to sign and fax.
You will need approval from your car insurance to complete an MVA assessment. You will need to complete a pre-screen before we can request an approval for the MVA assessment.
No, you do not need a referral for a psychoeducational assessment.
You or your WSIB case manager will need to provide a written approval(from WSIB) in order to complete a WSIB assessment
You’ll meet with the psychiatrist to discuss your symptoms, history, and concerns. You may receive a diagnosis and treatment plan, which can include recommendations for therapy, medication, or other supports.
After the psychiatrist assessment, the psychiatrist may prescribe medication if needed. Follow-up care may be coordinated with your family doctor or our team.
