Micaela is currently a Senior Therapist who is working towards her Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) certifications. She earned her Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Brock University, and also holds a graduate certificate in Behavioural Science from George Brown College, a certificate in Forensic Practice from Humber College, and a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Psychology from Dalhousie University.
Micaela has worked in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis across a variety of clinical and community settings, supporting children, youth, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental exceptionalities, and behavioural challenges. Her clinical experience includes developing and supervising individualized ABA programs, conducting skill-based and behavioural assessments, training and supervising Instructor Therapists, and collaborating with parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to promote meaningful outcomes. She has also contributed to research in forensic psychiatry at CAMH and has experience as both a graduate and undergraduate teaching assistant at Brock University.
In addition to her clinical work, Micaela has co-authored peer-reviewed research in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis. Her publications include a meta-analysis on the ‘efficacy and efficiency of interventions for treating pediatric feeding disorders’ (2024), as well as research examining ‘functional analysis screening for inappropriate mealtime behaviour’ (2024). Her research reflects a strong interest in evidence-based approaches to complex behavioural challenges, with a focus on ensuring practical and effective interventions for children and their families.
As a clinician, Micaela emphasizes the importance of building independence, fostering the development of functional life skills, and supporting family involvement. She is committed to tailoring evidence-based interventions to each learner’s strengths and needs while creating supportive environments for skill development. With additional training in crisis intervention and self-regulation approaches, Micaela integrates compassionate care and safety into her practice.
