Rim Shaloufe Sanchez is a counsellor at The Insight Clinic who supports children, teens, and young adults in a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space. She offers in-person and virtual counselling in Whitby and brings 20 years of experience in child and youth care, education, and guidance counselling. Rim works with clients facing anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, stress, grief, self-esteem concerns, social and academic challenges, ADHD-related concerns, and life transitions.
Rim is especially passionate about working with adolescents and young adults, helping them feel understood, build confidence, and develop practical tools to manage everyday challenges. She creates a respectful and welcoming environment where clients can openly explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences while working toward meaningful growth and healing.
Her approach is developmentally informed, compassionate, and practical. Rim uses a blend of conversation, mindfulness, practical coping tools, creative approaches, and person-centred support, while also drawing from CBT-informed and DBT-informed strategies, behavioural techniques, and play-based approaches when appropriate to the client’s needs. She is known for creating a genuine sense of comfort and connection, allowing clients to feel safe, heard, and supported throughout the counselling process.
Clients and colleagues often describe Rim as warm, uplifting, and compassionate. She is valued for her ability to help clients feel at ease, gain clarity, and leave sessions feeling more hopeful, empowered, and supported. Her background as an Elementary Guidance Counsellor, teacher, and child and youth worker allows her to bring a thoughtful and developmentally sensitive perspective to her work with children, teens, and families.
Rim works with children ages 9 to 12, teens ages 13 to 17, and young adults ages 18 to 30. She offers support in English, Arabic, and conversational Spanish.
