About Zhala Taghi Zada Psychometrist

Zhala Taghi Zada is the Lead Psychometrist at The Insight Clinic. She administers and scores cognitive and psychoeducational assessments to help better understand each client’s learning style, cognitive profile, academic strengths, areas of difficulty, and possible concerns such as learning disabilities, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental or cognitive characteristics.

Zhala supports children, teens, and adults through thoughtful, structured, and compassionate cognitive testing. She is especially passionate about working with children and believes it is important to uplift the voices of those who may feel most vulnerable, misunderstood, or unheard. Her goal is to create an assessment experience where clients feel safe, respected, and able to openly share their concerns without fear of judgment or shame.

Zhala studied Neuroscience at the University of Toronto and received psychometric training with neuropsychologists at both Baycrest Hospital and Sunnybrook Hospital. She also brings a background in clinical research with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s patients, giving her strong experience in cognitive functioning, neuropsychological processes, and assessment-related care.

Her work focuses on helping clients and families better understand learning differences, attention challenges, memory concerns, processing difficulties, academic struggles, and neurodevelopmental profiles. Zhala recognizes that learning disabilities, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental conditions are often misunderstood and can carry stigma. She approaches each assessment with warmth, curiosity, and care, helping clients understand both their strengths and areas of need.

As an immigrant and person of colour, Zhala also brings personal insight into how systemic barriers, cultural expectations, and bias can affect people in academic, professional, and healthcare settings. She values creating an inclusive, culturally sensitive, and welcoming space where clients’ lived experiences are considered as part of the bigger picture.

For Zhala, client success means creating a space where clients can openly discuss their concerns and leave with a clearer understanding of themselves. A successful assessment experience helps clients contextualize their strengths and weaknesses, reduce shame, and access meaningful recommendations for school, work, treatment, or daily life.

Outside of work, Zhala enjoys hiking, writing, and watching anime.
Over the next year, Zhala hopes to continue expanding her cognitive testing work, including assessment support for motor vehicle accident cases.
