See a therapist or counsellor: Our registered therapists can help you talk through your feelings and develop coping mechanisms for dealing with depression. They may use Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT), which is a type of talk therapy that has proven to be very effective in treating depression.
Try an online self-help program: There are online programs that are effective in treating mild to moderate depression. They typically include educational components and interactive exercises, and they can be accessed from the comfort of your own home. We at The Insight Clinic offer Online DBT series that is being taught in the colleges of Ontario, Canada.
Book our DBT series: Dialectical behavioral therapy, or DBT for short, is a form of therapy that helps you learn new skills and manage your emotions and relate to others more effectively. Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is a form of psychotherapy that combines traditional cognitive-behavioural therapy with principles of Zen Buddhist practice.
The basic premise of DBT is that you do not change in a vacuum; rather, you change as a result of your interactions with others and your environment.
Join a support group: Talking to others who are going through similar experiences can be very helpful. Support groups for depression can be found in local hospitals, mental health clinics, and community centers.
Self-Care: As well as professional treatment, there are many things you can do to help yourself feel better. such as getting regular exercise, eating a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, and trying to engage in activities that you enjoy.
